On 16/17 November 2007, the Eighteenth-Century Worlds Research Centre at the University of Liverpool, jointly with the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, will be hosting an international symposium on Joseph Wright of Derby  (1734-97). The aim is to re-evaluate the career, œuvre, and impact of one of the most significant British artists of the mid-eighteenth century. Key speakers include Prof. L. Jordanova (KCL), Dr M. Craske (Oxford Brookes), Prof. S. Daniels (Nottingham). The free conference features an introduction to the Joseph Wright exhibition at the Walker Gallery,  by the curator, Dr E.
